Mannatech is a company which I have been associated with for many years. Glyconutrients are monosaccharide sugars which have been identified as having a biological function, instead of used to provide calories. They provide the basic structure which our cells need to build proper communication with each other and to maintain normal functioning of the body. There are eight of these sugars found on the outside of a cell which form receptors called glycoforms. The combination of the sugars in a glycoform will determine the information that is communicated from cell to cell. Clinical research has also shown that when glyconutrients are present in larger than normal quantities, the body can rebuild organs that have long been considered impossible to repair. Also researchers radioactively tagged glucose, galactose and mannose sugar molecules and monitored their activity when ingested.
